E3 2017
Well I guess they decided to start early this year and have it be part of the weekend.
EA press conference was last night and today we get Microsoft at 5pm EST and Bethesda at midnight EST. Use this thread to discuss or drop links to trailers of games that you are hyped for that probably won't come out til next year. I am that one sucker that buys need for speed every time a new one comes out. So I am definitely going to get the new one that pretty much should be called Need For Speed:Furious. They decided to add Fast and the Furious type heists to the game. I feel like A Way Out should have been called No Way Out but whatever. It reminds me of a Kane and Lynch style game mixed with a Prison Break storyline. I am definitely in. I played through the first Kane and Lynch with my friend but I did the second one solo. I bought that second one for 9 bucks and still felt ripped out. It was awful and only like five hours long if that. I will post trailers to those two later. Also all the nerds geeking out over Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay. I bet that game doesn't come out til 2020. |
I'll be honest. A Way Out was easily the coolest thing at EAs conference for me. Yeah sw battlefront is looking good. But A way out just looked so unique. I'm super excited to see what microsofts conference will be like.

I liked Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and A Way Out looks like the logical progression of that game's puzzle formula. It's also nice to see a game made exclusively for split screen as that is a feature that has pretty much been ignored for the last decade or so. I could definitely see this being a game I buy for the PS4 rather than PC for the proper co-op couch experience.
I feel like most of the big games have already already been announced in some capacity or another, with only Ubisoft holding out and pretending like the world already doesn't know that the next Assassin's Creed game will be set in ancient Egypt. That being said, I think that's a pretty awesome place to go, and I'm curious if their year off has changed their outlook on how to design open world games. One thing I hope we do get is a fucking release date for Cuphead. |

Plus any unannounced stuff... I think this is the make it or break it year for them. |

Anthem is such a Destiny clone but it looks sexy and I would play it if I had a Xbox 1.
The name of the new system sounds stupid to me Xbox 1X |
Anthem is not an exclusive.
Overall the show was solid. They spent plenty of time showing interesting games, and the XBOX, which is xbox one x abbreviated, looks to be quite a beast. |
Anthem looks good, but
buuut The new Metro is going to be ****ing awesome. Semi open world, which will probably mean multiple open but limited locations connected via metro or rail tunnels. Having read like 20 of the books set in this world, I simply can't wait. The best part, not the "I'm alone and wounded and it's dark, and I have like 2 bullets and there is a horde of mutants stalking me" part, but the best part of this world imo was exploring the postapocalyptic world - all the villages, towns, secret bases, new and old societies, moving around a world like this by train.. it all seems to be here. Having said that, it seems I'll have to sell a kidney to afford a pc that will run it looking as good as it looks in the trailer.. but maybe it's time for an upgrade.. |
