I keep seeing this thread bumped, then I see no reviews. You can imagine my disappointment.

TruckFighers - Gravity X
Recommended by 1blankmind

blank's first rec was one I never connected with. Going into this one hoping (for both my sake and his) that this will redeem him.

Desert Cruiser: Oh hell yeah, this is tight. Nice stoner rock riffing. Fairly simple and straight forward, but effective nonetheless. I dig this, I'm just wondering how they'll keep this going for the rest of this nearly 8 minute track. These guys are going full out guitar wankery apparently, but to be fair it works well enough to hold my attention.

Gargarismo: Fuzzy guitar and dirty distorted vocals. Pretty typical stuff for stoner rock here. There's definitely a heavy psychedelic element to their sound that I enjoy.

Momentum: Not crazy about the start of this track. Drugged out mumbly vocals and boring guitar work. Things are picking up now, crunchy guitar tone is hitting hard as ****. Every time things slow down I find myself annoyed. FFS, once they get things going again I find myself loving it. Pretty torn on whether or not I like this track or not. I think the good moments outweigh the bad though.

Freewheelin': The vocalist kind of sounds like Milhouse's dad on this track. Maybe I've just been watching The Simpsons too much... anyway this one is relatively weird. Cool progression thoughout the song and time switches. Yeah me dig this, me dig this indeed. Ew, those claps are corny as ****. Why would they follow up such a gnarly riff with that ****.

The Deal: Man, these guys have some sick ass guitar tones and when they're just straight up shredding it's elite. There's some serious intensity behind those riffs.

Superfunk: Hard to believe these guys are just considered stoner rock on RYM. There are some serious elements of psychedelic rock and a lot of metal tendencies in their sound. I've heard people call QOTSA metal and these riffs hit a lot harder than QOTSA's heaviest.

Subfloor: ****in' eh, the vocals are growing on me which is nice. Horns on this track are a nice addition, kind of adds a doom-y feeling. The drum work too, holy ****.

Gweedo-Weedo: This one has a serious swampy redneck feeling to it. They've managed to drag a lot of variation out of what I initially thought was going to be relatively generic stoner rock. Has the drummer been going this hard throughout the whole album? How did I not notice? There's interludes in this song sound almost industrial at times, wild.

Manhattan Project: Another solid track, can't complain.

In Search of (The): I keep zoning out and when I come back too I'm always nodding my head aggressively. If that isn't a good enough statement of how enjoyable this album is, idk what would be.

Intermission: The length of the album is finally starting to get to me, it's a little long for my liking. Oh well, we're almost through and there hasn't been any awful tracks, or even any bad ones for that matter. Decent instrumental interlude.

A. Zapruder: Not much more to add, great track.

Altered State: This one's a slow burner, almost 9 minutes long. Not a lot has happened so far... Good song, nothing mind-bogglingly great but solid.

Final Verdict: This album rocked my socks off, I gotta say it. You definitely redeemed yourself after the last rec, and this album will certainly get another listen from me in the future. It was a little long for my tastes, but that's kind of nitpicking. Overall though, I love it.

I love that album. I was blown away by it. The biggest issue I had with it was definitely, the length of the album causes it to drag out, but those songs still hold up.
