So, whenever I get a recommendation for something, it may take me a year to get around to it, but I do get there. Just tonight I listened to Mourning Golden Morning, and I declare it to be one of my favourite post-rock albums.

Now, this means almost nothing at all because I listen to so little post-rock, but the point I wanted to make was that it's excellent, and has increased my interest in post-rock as a whole.

    So thank you!

That's a shame. No wonder you're more about Swedish artists than Finnish ones.

Im really not into metal myself anymore but I used to be. Cult of Luna and other post metal bands are nice since I don't consider them to metal that much since there is a huge post-rock influence in there.
I don't like generic melodic death metal bands or folk metal bands or any of that stuff to be honest. Finland needs more diversity to its music scene since there are alot of metal bands and only a handfull of indie rock or anything else basically.

I'm entirely unschooled in metal, and what I've heard of it has gone down poorly. I'm totally open to simply not having heard the right artist for me, but I'm far too intimidated by the genre to just jump in on my own.

Salty licorice is awesome :D but I hate the finnish metal scene. Everybody seems to be into metal here and they usually like really crappy metal bands. I only like post-metal bands like Isis, Cult of Luna and Callisto. Check out Cult of Luna if your into post-rock/sludge and shouting :D

I'm honestly open to pretty much anything. I came here to get into everything I'm not already, so hold no punches. My favourite artists tend to fall under the somewhat derogatory "mall indie" category, but I'm open to plenty, haha.

Canada has some really great artists. I'll be honest and say I know only two things about Finland, and they are: 1) Black metal and 2) Salty licorice.
