A little help ID'ing a (possibly classic) love song. Thanks!

Heard a song playing overhead on the radio at a clothing store. Thought Id remember some lyrics but forgot amid my shopping

It was some sort of love song or classic love song, had like an oldies style. All I remember was that at the end of every line during a verse the singer would say (ooooh), but not during the chorus.

Like this:

Verse

"Lyrics lyrics lyrics...brief pause...oooohhh
More lyrics more lyrics...brief pause..ooooohhh"

Male singer, I think, though I can't be completely sure. It was pretty up tempo too.

If anyone has any ideas, guesses or suggestions feel free to share!
