I've only listened to it a couple of times, but I like it! Some of the songs are really good, but some others are 'okay'. I think it will need some more listens to sink in, though.

My favourite song so far is 'Freedom to 21'. Love the drums.

I like that he's working with new arrangements, but nothing as adventurous as GBMS. I hope he continues with this, because I love him as a writer. I gave it a 3 (but really a 3.5)

4/5 for me

i wish he did more rootsy stuff like his songs on the "Hope (or is it White?) Mountain" soundtrack
That would be "cold mountain".

I agree, I was wanting some more rootsy stuff but i think he was wanting to stray away from that and make a more original album.

It's less guitar oriented than his work with the white stripes, more keyboards, better drumming, more layered sound.

I have to go 5/5. There is SO MUCH diversity, and you can really feel Jack's emotion on this album. I don't love every song, but it does flow nicely. I don't think I dislike any song on it yet either.

After the first week of listening to it quite a bit, my 3 favorites are:

I'm Shakin'
Trash Tongue Talker
Sixteen Saltines

My favorite thing about Jack is that he does ANYTHING he wants on a record. This is a great solo "debut".
