Compared to the number of people who hate them, which number is bigger?

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

I never said that you have to believe music is good because the masses do.

I just said that if you want to talk objectively about music, like you tried, then the opinions of the masses matter much more than you want to credit them for because it contradicts your own views.

How many times do I have to say that before it hits you? Or are you going to continue to reach?

Objection. An artist can be incredibly popular while still being incredibly hated.

If the masses don't judge music on the same basis, then their support of an artist (how I define popularity) is not an objective point of view.

Okay, give me an example and I'll shut up and concede and you're right and I'm being a dumb ass wasting everybody's time.

I don't count Nickelback, consensus is that they suck, people hate them in numbers that far out number the people that like them.

U2
Muse
Mumford & Sons
Kanye West

Lots of bands that are loved on a wide scale that a lot of music fans (but not all) mock on a wide scale.

But are they generally hated? Is there a general consensus that they suck or is there just a split view on them?

Edit: No, general consensus is that Kanye is very talented and good. He's mocked for his ego.

I said widely, but I guess you could say yes depending on the community that you're surveying.

Pretty much, with basic hos being the most enthusiastic supporters whose opinions I dismiss even in an objective argument because they're dumb and I'm just better at understanding music than them.
