matchbox twenty really isn't something to write home about. Their best albums are the ones released in 2000 and before. everything else mroe or less sucked or just wasn't worth buying.

Their best Albums are MadSeason, and You or Someone Else Like You

And rob's solo album was crap. The only worthwhile song he did without the band was the one he did wwith Carlos Santana.

My mums got Yourself Or Someone Like You, and I have a bit of a soft spot for it. I didn't like anything else they did but somehow this album was pretty good for pop alt-rock.

I remember liking their first album when it came out, feeling like I was way too cool for them by the time their second one came out (it was like 4 years later--kind of a long gap), having a song off their third album turn into kind of a guilty pleasure, then going back and realising the first album actually isn't all that bad if I'm in the right mood.

I mean c'mon, this is pretty solid for what it is:

the greatest thing Matchbox 20 ever accomplished (albeit indirectly) is the creation of the following article:

Their first album was great, good pop / rock with a bit of bite and some lyrical substance to it... everything since, nah, I'd give it a miss. And Rob Thomas just annoys the crap outta me...

I really enjoyed classic Matchbox 20 but they should have stuck as a band. Rob Thomas' solo songs lately have been boring as hell. I liked "Lonely No More" and that's about it.

Whoa, lotta hate in here for Matchbox

I grew up in the time when Matchbox was really big.. I'll always like the Yourself Or Someone Like You CD. There's a few songs off of Mad Season that are ok, there's not a lot of newer stuff of theirs that I like, but to be fair I haven't listened to a lot of it either.

Once in awhile I cruise down memory lane and throw some of their early stuff on
