Ariana Grande

She's got the top 1, 2, and 3 spots on the Billboard Top 100, the first time this feat has been accomplished since The Beatles in 1964.

About the reaction I expected here.

Are they good songs?

Blarobbarg 02-20-2019 06:49 AM

Honestly, I like her. I think some of her songs are underwhelming but when she’s on she’s ON. “Imagine” and “thank u, next” are certified bangers. She’s talented and while I didn’t love them, I do like her last two albums more than most mainstream pop. I also truly appreciate her realness in the public eye while under so much pressure. I look forward to whatever she’s doing next.

She's da bomb. It's no surprise that she blew up.

Follow up: I checked out all three songs. "7 Rings" is okay, it's a re-working of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music with some interesting touches. "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" is basically modern pop song boilerplate with obligatory awkward "sexy" lyrics—pretty forgettable. "Thank U, Next" is the kind of popular song that mystifies me in that it goes nowhere, isn't catchy in any way, and has an uninteresting beat—how songs like this ever chart highly has always been a mystery to me.

I already listened to them. They aren't.

Then my prejudging of her was correct. Thanks for confirming.
