roflol! If that was serious, I don't think you've even seen Rudess play at all.

Let's analyse that particular Wakeman solo. The first part is a great bed time lullaby, but it's hard to fall asleep with the horrible errors he plays and often fails to emphasise the correct notes and gets slightly out of time in parts. Then when it leads on to the stupid wank part, I couldn't help but laugh the first time I saw it. All he does is hit the same notes over and over again, which any one can do if they practice for about three minutes. And he gets that stupid pirate feeling going on, which is why it's so funny. Oh and let's not forget his showing off playing multiple keyboards at once...someone kill me.

Oh dear, here's a real solo for you (random pick, first one I could find):

Pretty decent Rudess work

If anyone in the world actually thinks Wakeman is better than Rudess by comparing those two videos......God, help me. I can only take so much ignorance.

Rudess eats him alive, with his rhythms, speed, chops, etc, etc. An appropriate analogy would be one of a baby being decimated by a monster truck. Trust me, Wakeman bows down on his knees and hails him when they meet.

If you want to compare Rudess with someone, please let it be a classical pianist, otherwise it is just lollypop to the max times 100. In fact, this isn't even funny anymore, it's just sad if someone actually argues this fact.

I see some deletion has been done here, which is good, we can now get back on topic.

Who here likes Yes?

It's recomended that if you dont like Yes, a simple "i dont like them" or "i dont see what makes them so special" will do, or least something along those lines, none of that "OMFG, all prog blows, thank god it's dead" crap, please.

M'kay? :)

Yes would be good if they weren't so lame and boring. CTTE is meant to be their best track and it usually makes me cringe when I hear it. But in saying that, I do have all their albums and used to like them a long time ago, but after discovering prog metal, it seems almost silly going back.

Don was banned.

I predict the dawning of a new age, an age of peace and hope.

I'm huge on Yes. So far I only have "Close To the Edge" and "Relayer", but every time I shop for CD's I consider buying another one of theirs...

What's your view on "Tales from Topographic Oceans"??

tdoc210 04-22-2006 03:10 PM

I think its a good album, but its not for everyone, its four songls long, and they are eacxh 20 mins

xoverkillx 04-22-2006 03:12 PM

Yeh, a member on my own forum said it was basically like 4 "epic" 20 minute prog songs, so it could be too much for some of us. But that's the part of Yes I like, so I may consider it...
