It sucks. But wait... what more can you expect from the Sex Pistols?

I find that people who don't acknowledge the sex pistols' influence either have a personal dislike of their sound (fair enough) or they hate the British. *sips tea*

Just one example - how many American hardcore pioneers have acknowledged the singular influence of (if not the Pistols) the Buzz****s' US tour? They wouldn't exist had Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto not been at the Pistols' Lesser Free Trade Hall gig in 1976. You see where I'm going with this.

Same goes for nearly any other band (3-chord punkers or not) who formed in late 70's Britain.

Sure the Sex Pistols weren't the FIRST punk group, and they ripped off their sound from the NY Dolls, but they got everybody riled up and wanting to have a go themselves - even if it was radically different from the generic punk sound (Gang of Four, Wire, the Fall etc)

Johnny!!!
He's the best, i think. Damn- everyone hated him and he hated everyone back. Even though he was punk, i think he was actually serious about what he was doing, not just messing around. Of course its important to have fun with music, but also have some sort of meaning and importance. The Pistols were very influential and whether you like 'em or not, you must know that if it weren't for them, a lot of other bands would never have started!

Oh but i just love Iggy as well...

The fact that it took about 8 weeks to anyone to notice they're not on it is why they are not it on.

And The Exploited are shit , and Jimmy Pursey was left off for the same reason before you mention him too
