Well... I'm not one to stereotype people and humans are much more complex than to just be summed up in one word, but I can safely say I am not a huge fan of "hipsters." The ones I see don't just match a few of the qualities I see, but ALL of them. This completely goes against my ideal of against stereotyping people. It scared the hell out of me. I even realized I didn't like these people before I even knew what I hipster was. They can be so mean and they do have an "elitist" attitude that someone previously mentioned.

What I think appealed to me about Hipsters in the first place was that they put, at least ostensibly, a premium on art. There was a militant criteria on artistic integrity.

But like all commercialized sub-cultures image took precedent over substance. You could be snarky, not because you had merit behind you, but because you looked like a Hipster. And everyone knows Hipsters have an interest in the promotion of art, right?

I always wondered why they seemed so pissy. Once upon a time it might have been because of terrible music. Now its just the way you're supposed to be.

Thats just what most Street Carnage comments are like. Street Carnage is the frathouse version of Vice.

Eh, I don't know. I have a blog that almost no one reads. I posted something on Hipsters once and they came out of the ****ing woodwork to attack the post.

I swear the pseudos just google "hipster" on a daily basis and go with what comes up.

You're probably right but every post on Street Carnage has a bunch of comments and most of them are pointless vulgarity that have nothing to do with the article.
