I fully admit to only really liking their first 2 albums (I also have a soft spot for Brain Drain) and the rest is probably not worth much because it's so unvaried but fuck me, kids, they were a good band.
No, I kept the first album. It's alright.

Good. It's essential.

100%....ALL is literally all of Decendents but without Milo (the Scott Reynolds years are my favorite) i love both ALL and Decendents

i agree with this.....the only other band i thing that falls into this is another band that seems to be constantly in this same argument....Bad Religion...i love it when people tell me how much they hate Bad Religion 2 seconds after each song starts

You're the one who said they "were really good" after all. Good music gets aged, of course, but does it become bad because of that?
(hint: No, it doesn't.)
absolutely not ....i do agree with the comments about Ramones clone bands in many ways destroying the appeal....but i don't think that has anything to do with the Ramones....i mean i like both Screeching Weasel and The Queers....both of which at least at some point in their careers sound so much like Ramones its annoying.....but i blame the bands not the influence

Dang just the other day I was listening to the Descendents 'Somery' and there was a guitar riff on there that Green Day had totally stolen for one of their hit singles.

Well I could go and find the Green Day song, but I don't want to subject myself to listening to their 'music' (I despise that band immensely. )

show me the Descendents link. I am sure I can figure out the Green Day song if that is the case.

I'm pretty sure it was 'clean sheets'

Anyhow in the end it doesn't really matter because of the preponderance of evidence of other rip-age:

I Never Realized How Much Green Day Ripped Off Other Bands Until Their Game Came Out

but really in their defense, virtually ever band has ripped off each other if you are just going by a riff here and there.

This is so true in pop-punk when it comes to riffs and chord progressions that it isn't even worth mentioning.
