Crazy & M Train, 7" single (1981)
Kudos to REM I wouldn't know about Pylon if it wasn't for Dead Letter Office. Pylon once opened for Gang of Four.

Ether opening song off of Gang of Four album entertainment! It was ranked #483 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, yet people 'round here still complain about that rag

Into You Like a Train 6th track on 1981 album Talk Talk Talk - Psychedlic Furs (one of my favorite albums)

First track off of The Sky's Gone Out (1982) a cover song of Brian Eno
(one of my favorite songs)

My turn..

You've heard someone else do this before, but this is the original.

The Pop Group split up, get Nenah Cherry as a vocalist and you have this.

Can't ignore the wave of electronic bands that came out of Sheffield. Out of all of them this is my favourite tune.

I'm a total Adam Ant mark and have been since the age of 8. I just love his early post punk period when the Ants were made up of members of The Monochrome Set. Far too overlooked.

Don't know much about this band. They put out a couple of albums and a couple of E.P's around 79/80 and just disappeared. I always liked them though.

Wow, man, even though I generally like complete sentences, you and I actually have shit in common. I love this album. And I like Pylon too.

Off their best album, "Heaven Up Here". Really great band, but they went downhill quickly after "The Killing Moon".

Great call on Liquid Liquid. Stonewall classic.

Some from me although many on here will wipe the floor with me regarding Post Punk.

The aforementioned Swell Maps and The Pop Group are damn good bands and Jans mentioned Wall Of Voodoo too

Wire are up there for me though and they are STILL making great music today.

To think I was worried I would be critized for the bands I posted. Sentences fragments. Didn't see that coming. I definitely thought someone would argue with me that the Furs weren't Post Punk. To see that you wrote that made me a bit suprised someone also likes that album.

this thread alone is becoming an awesome mix tape

i think i'll add a couple (few)

first and foremost....one of the major players in noise rock...Helios Creed's Chrome

and there cannot be a post punk thread without mention of the band that no one seems to like mentioning.....Mission Of Burma

go figure Indiana would produce some of the strangest and most jarring post punk ever in MX-80

by far one of my favorite lines in the genre "when danger calls i have to answer, i walk the streets like a human cancer"....ala Savage Republic

Death In June spawned out of a punk band called Crisis....and before becoming a heathen folk band they were very much riding the coattails of post punk....this is honestly probably the best song they ever recorded....

and oddly no mention as of yet of Killing Joke....speaking of...a couple of weeks ago i got an email for Disinformation saying the lead singer was missing (again) and they think he is under severe stress due to strong apocalyptic beliefs....i can honestly say that this song....and in particular this version never gets old....and would fall on a list of all time favorite songs for me

and last but never least....and because they do fit....DEVO! (well DEVO fits everywhere don't they)
