I have been trying to get into some Nas so I will look into this. Right now I have been going crazy with Common.

Yes, when I listen to Rakim's Paid In Full, it would be hard to admit that there's ever been a smoother flow than that. The way he blends words together seamlessly. He sounds like he just woke up from a nap, but he still has a story that's worth listening to.
The Donald I agree with your statement, but I think Nas is pretty good. I feel Nas and Jay-Z are equally talented, and where I come from Jay-Z is generally much more well known and regarded as great than Nas, so I was surprised to see you list him overrated.

Best Rapper alive... and there is an option of four?
All four I've heard of, so all four are mainstream.

going crazy with Common? there's something about Common's lyrics and his flow that bug me....I love the music he samples though.

you aren't the first one venture into the hip hop section....go to a thread...just to post your hatred for hip hop....so no cookie for you

I'm curious as to why you "hate" hip hop.

He hates hip hop cus he hasn't given it a fair chance, and listened to the right music. Ooor taken the time to understand what its about and the stories it tells.

I know that, you know that but I always like to hear it from the horses mouth whenever they like to spout their hatred for rap/hip hop.....it's funny too because she lists that she likes poetry but she hasn't even true artists a chance and listen to their lyrics which can be compared to poetry

i definatly wouldnt compare rap lyrics to poetry, but then again, i know absolutly nothing at all about hip hop or rap...although i did once hear a rap song that i didnt like, but i was really impressed by the lyrics, but i have no idea what it was,.....so i voted other cuz iveheard music by the ones on the list, and was not impressed
