Ah man, I totally forgot to mention Heiruspecs. They're a great group with a somewhat unique style, as they incorporate lots of bass/drums in their tracks rather than computer generated beats. Definitely worth checking out, I'd recommend 5ves for sure if you want to listen to a specific track.

Also, anyone ever heard of Grieves? Not technically based in the Midwest, but he was born in Chicago.

Everyone recommends 5ves for Heiru. Haha. They're ****ing awesome, though.

Also, Grieves is dope.

que? what? There is a huge difference depending on where a group is from. It's incredibly noticeable to me and I listen to pretty much everything

A majority of southern rappers focus more on party/club songs so their lyrics are horrible. Southern rappers do have some nice beats though.

Northeast/eastern rappers are more about the lyrics even in their club songs they are pretty tight and their production is usually on point also.

Midwest rappers well mostly around chicago they either go for more soulful type beats or they have super fast beats that's mixed with house music. that usually helps with Footworking.

Western Rappers....they are a bit harder to describe but I'll just focus on Bay area rappers....they have the similar uptempto fast beats for the whole krumping dance style they have out there.

of course these are just generalizations there are rappers that go against the formula for their area. Each area does tend to have a formula though

Anghellic is personally my favorite.

A lot of people go for Absolute Power and Everready, though.

I met him in an airport once but I had no idea who he was back then. I just heard someone say that's Tech Nine. and I'm like ummm ok. rofl

what about Vintage Tech? any good? I'm going to give those other albums a listen too.

Vintage Tech is pretty good, minus a few songs and Tech talking about every track.

True that, he's ridiculously good live too. If you ever get a chance to see him live it's totally worth it, definitely one of the best live performers I've seen. That, and Budo is a player too.
