The actual intro to album EVERY reggae (all types) song starts with the few beats (usually 3-4) of tom hits or bongo's.

It really annoys me, you would think that they would change it up, since theirs only so many different combination's you can have.

Example: EVERY SONG ON EXODUS and countless others by god knows how many artists.

Maybe im missing something but why is this the case. it gets sickening.
Try to branch out into different forms of reggae. Dub especially uses a lot of synth instead of drum beats. Good bands to check out: The Black Seeds, Heavyweight Dub Champion, Fat Freddy's Drop, Scientist, those are some of my favorite dub bands.

Jackhammer's compilation was quite good as well, especially the second half. Burning Spear is always good, and I've already got a lot of his stuff. 'Swedish Prison' was a killer, although It doesn't have any vocals. 'Thievery Corporation' is also another name I've been meaning to check out. I've seen them being mentioned quite a few times around these boards.
Couple of songs in the first half did sound a bit cheesy, but overall, nicely varied list.

One of my favourites are the Corp! I could help you out and upload a couple of albums, but I'll let you get past those Scott Walker links I sent you first

To be fair, it was an intro mix so nothing too expansive. I may do another at some point.

Default Good Reggae Introductions

Hey, I'm looking into reggae. I've discovered it really relaxes me and helps me get my work done. I listen to tons of the more traditional ska (Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, etc), but with regards to reggae I pretty much only listen to Bob Marley. This needs to change.
