REGGAE

This is a Reggae compilation for those who have limited knowledge of the genre or see it as a genre of music that all sounds the same. With this compilation I have tried to get as varied a cross section of moods and styles as possible and not include the usual suspects. You will hear rock guitar, blues harp, classical guitar, jazz sax, electronica as well as various sub genres of Reggae such as dub, roots and riddim. Please download and enjoy!

Very good comp.

Especially the second half. I love the Freestylers.

Also Burning Spear is obviously very good.

Right. I'm getting through this now.

Why don't you do that too. I'll be a good contribution, if you were serious that is...

*Bump*

Reggae anyone?

Dr_Rez 09-05-2008 06:55 PM

Actually Jackhammer this thread title made me think of something.

The actual intro to album EVERY reggae (all types) song starts with the few beats (usually 3-4) of tom hits or bongo's.

It really annoys me, you would think that they would change it up, since theirs only so many different combination's you can have.

Example: EVERY SONG ON EXODUS and countless others by god knows how many artists.

Maybe im missing something but why is this the case. it gets sickening.

3. "Truths And Rights" by Johnny Osbourne (from "Truths And Rights", 1980)
4. "Your Teeth In My Neck" by Scientist (from "Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Vampires", 1981)
5. "Declaration Of Rights" by The Abyssinians (from "Satta Massagana", 1976)
6. "Super Ape" by Lee "Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters (from "Super Ape", 1976)
7. "Life Of Contradiction" by Joe Higgs (from "Life Of Contradiction", 1975)
