well, I think that is obvious that Bob Marley was and is the king of the reggae, but there are many singers very good, for example "Takana Zion" He has beautiful voice , I advise you to listen his music.

I have been digging through some old reggae discs lately. Kinda feeling the vibe again and digging the heart that goes into the music. Rythym come forward a reggae anthology has one of my favorite tunes, Peter Tosh's Stepping Razor is a jam.

Burning Spear is quintessential reggae for me, hes a must listen if you dig roots reggae. But you cant go wrong with Tosh or Marley either, both legends.

I've seen Burning Spear live many times at the Galaxy concert theater. I couldn't agree more, one of the best live acts and a must listen in the genre. I think after the greats passed that BS and Steel Pulse kind of carried the genre for awhile. It seemed to lean more towards dancehall acts in the early 90's when I was down with reggae at my peak interest level. Lots of acts that sounded the same ala eek a mouse, pato banton and shinehead. Burning Spear always stuck to what they know Roots and they're definitely one of the best.

Wow that really awesome you've got to see him live! Yeah and absolutely Burning Spear have always stuck to what they know best and have been pumping out classics since the 70s, and he still keeps making excellent roots reggae music.
