Quote:
Brown eyed handsom man is acctually originally a chuck berry song. Ii ncase you didnt know Taj Mahal is mainly a blues singer/songwriter. He only did a few albums with a caribian influence. If you havnt already I highly suggest you listen to his blues stuff, its much better than his offshoot stuff. |
Quote:
Honestly his blues stuff is good, but I prefer the obscure reggae stuff better. |
That's true about Taj Mahal. When I seen his name I didn't think reggae. Would like to hear a reggae tune by him.
Not actually heard much by him, but there is this film called "Rolling Stones, Rock & Roll Circus" with Taj on it. Well top !!! Anyway back to the thread "Favourite Reggae Songs" It's difficult I love so many................ Ganga Smuggling - Eek a Mouse Mr Bojangles - John Holt Babylon must Fall - Jennifer Gad |

What obscure reggae do you like? A lot of the stuff I like is mid 70s - mid 8os. |
All of taj's reggae stuff sounds very overproduced to me. None of the tracks seem blenede together, all the drums and horns have a kind of soca sound to them.
|
Hmm I'd have to say my favourite Bob Marley songs are 400 years, concrete jungle and down pressor.

Bob Marley - One Love
