^ Rush are a great band but they definitely aren't metal. I'd class them as progressive rock.

And in my opinion Sabbath sound more hard rock than metal, although they were part of the new wave of british heavy metal

I bought a book when I was a kid called 'The Encycopedia of Heavy Metal' written by Mick Wall at Kerrang. Rush were in that.

You've got a point there. Charlotte the Harlot is a cool song - it does have a bit of a punk sound. That could possibly be because Dave Murray wrote that song by himself. Steve Harris wrote most of the other ones.
