i just thought of something, what about hair metal? ie. motley crue, skidrow, ratt, early pantera etc.

I had write something on hair metal but ian took it out, he probaly has his reasons to this.

That and hair metal kind of..well it isn't that metal and to be honest i think its more hard rock, like motley cure and twisted sister and such really don't have a metal sound to them as to other metal genres goin' on in the 80s that did.

Yes, that term is more accurate to describe it.
So basically im pretty sure its not on there because its not really metal.

It's not metal. It's a disgrace.

and Perfection, I included As I Lay Dying not out of personal prefrence (I'm not a huge fan), but rather because I think they better typify the "metalcore" sound. Unearth is much more technical and well, metal, than AILD.

good band though.

i see...all well and good then. i wasnt saying that i dont like as i lay dying, because i do, very much. but i see what youre talking about.

I felt that an explination was neccessary. There are alot of nu-metal fans out there and defining the style was needed. needed to keep people from getting into nu-metal.
