Piss Myself Laughing-they are a thrash band. How are they false metal? Thrash CAN evolve. There is no huge element of punk or hardcore etc in their music.

Ugh, why do people call Lamb of God thrash? They are metalcore, albeit really good metalcore.

They're no different from any other metalcore band out there; breakdowns, fast d-beats, high-range growling, detuned guitars. Hell, they even have the same metalcore-produced sound.

If you want to call them thrash, be my guest. You might as well be calling Slipknot thrash, or calling Job For a Cowboy death metal.

Can I ask how old you are? I don't mean offence by this, but you seem to be a young guy ready to put everything in it's place-sh[i]t I was young once and felt EXACTLY the same way.

What genre do BLACK SABBATH belong to?
MORDRED?
SENSER?
GOJIRA?
MASTODON?
MESSUGAH?
PRIMUS?

Lamb Of God ARE A MODERN THRASH BAND simple as. They may use different musical techniques to express their sound-but it's still thrash. I cannot detect any influence outside the usual metal parameters to call them anything else.

So what sort of music is this then?

Napalm Death had nothing to do with metal-and this is fact. I worked with the bassist on the b-side of SCUM for two years and he has remained a very good friend of mine. The U.K scene seems to be totally different to the U.S scene in terms of ideas and ideology.

Y'know what I'm wondering? I'm wondering if you feel threatened by the fact that Lamb of God might just be metalcore. I always wonder about this whenever people are defending bands and making them out to be something different from what they are. Hey, I was the same way when I was younger ( I'm 19, btw, turning 20 next month). I would always say that Slipknot was Hardcore Metal and Mudvayne was "nu-american death metal." haha.

We can argue and argue, but in the end, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. I believe Lamb of God is metalcore, and you believe they are thrash.

secondly, out of the bands you listed, I've only listened to 2 of them. Heard of some of them, but never listened to them, or at least not enough.

Black Sabbath; Heavy metal, and if I'm not wrong, they also contributed to creating the doom metal genre.

Mastodon; metalcore.

No never feel threatened my friend. 20 says it all. LAMB OF GOD are just a metal band-their music is highly influenced by SLAYER and IRON MAIDEN. Wikipedia is not the be all and all of knowledge.

Black Sabbath are a heavy Blues band-I love them to death, but your description confirmed my opinions. I am not trying to get at you-just help educate you.

36 Crazyfists
Soilwork
Diecast
Flaw
Ill Niño
Motograter
Spineshank
Demon Hunter
Burn Season
Revelation Theory

I don't care if some of those "aren't metal." It's damn good music so it's good enough for me.

I don't rely THAT much on wikipedia. But when I think of thrash, I think of Slayer, Kreator, Venom, or Anthrax. Lamb of God sounds nothing like any of them.

I'm not saying I don't like Lamb of God. I love them as much as the next guy. Just because I don't consider it true metal doesn't mean I automatically think it sucks.

I'm the same way with fat free Mayonnaise; it's not mayonnaise. haha.

what does this have to do with anything? What does Ideas have to do with the genres? The U.S is just a portion of the scene, I actually prefer the European scene more.
