Here are a few of my favorite guitar solos. Just thinking off the top of my head...probably forgetting some.

Metallcia - "Ride the Lightning"
Metallica - "Master of Puppets"
Bathory - "Shores in Flames"
Bathory - "Call From The Grave"
Dissection - "In The Cold Winds of Nowhere"
Sepultura - "Mass Hypnosis"
Scar Symmetry - "Morphogenesis"
Wintersun - "Winter Madness"
Candlemass - "Samarithan"
Candlemass - "The Well of Souls"
Cynic - "How Could I"
Opeth - "Blackwater Park"

In my opinion, the Randy Rhoads solo on Crazy Train was one the best metal solo ever ......

But ! Guys like David Gilmour or Jimmy Page are just guitar sorcerers !
(and many more other guys in fact)

It would be impossible to name one band or song as having "The Best Solo", but I love the lead guitar on these songs:

Tech metal/ emo/ metalcore:

I Am Abomination - "Since 1776" Good Fight Music - YouTube

Rock and roll/ southern rock

Clutch - "Electric Worry" DRT Entertainment - YouTube

Spanish-influenced acoustic

Breed 77 - Breaking The Silence (Acoustic) - YouTube
