Sabbath could have put anyone on the mike after Ozzy left, and the record sales still would have plummetted, so the 'Dio killed Sabbath' argument is moot.

Ozzy leaving killed Sabbath, not Dio arriving.

There are very few bands who enjoyed truly great success once their original frontman left.

Van Halen continued to sell a phenomenal amount of records with Sammy Hagar, but to a different audience.

AC/DC is probably the most successful rock band of all time, in terms of record sales after a lead singer changed. Anyone besides me old enough to remember when Bon Scott died? Back in Black, as far as I'm concerned, will never be topped, as far as 'comeback albums.

They were in free-fall long before Ozzy left. I don`t see how anyone in their right mind could think that Technical Ecstacy & Never Say Die are better than Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules. If anything Dio joining them gave them a resurgance in popularity as short lived as it was.

Technicla Extasy, Never Say Die, Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell are all ****e IMO. But their first 6 albums are some of the best records ever made. It is obvious something was going wrong with Sabbath, and Dio didn't hurt them or help them. The only area where he hurts them is when you hear a live version of him singing Paranoid or some **** like that on the radio, ugh.

They are good albums if you don't compare them to any of Sabbath's earlier material...

I like Devo too though, so maybe I am just a freak.

Well thats probably the reason why I rate Heaven & Hell & Mob Rules , I`d not heard any of the Ozzy stuff when I heard those.

I rate them and I'd heard all the Ozzy stuff before. Even Dehumanizer isn't a bad album IMO.

Well I was listening to Live Evil just the other day.

I actually think Dio sings NIB much better than Ozzy ever did.

Exactly, I totally agree!!!Earlier on I put many bands that I own all of their albums on and almost put Black Sabbath.I remembered that I did not own those disaster albums (T.E. and N.S.D.), so I couldn't put Black Sabbath up as one of those all album artists.

Dio did an incredible job on those Black Sabbath albums too...
...Mob Rules is probally my favorite of the 2 as a whole, but Heaven And Hell is also a great album that everybody seems to love and/or favor. If Dio did anything to Black Sabbath, it was to carry on the tradition of metal and everything he did to the band was great from start to finish.Need I say more...lol?
