The Yeah Yeah Yeah's are probably the only chick fronted band I can stand. I also like Meg White's voice tho, but most girl vocals piss me off.

have you head anything by the kills? you may like them if you like the yeah yeah yeah's, bit rawer and alison mosshart (from the discounts) is amazing. especially live, although i was reliably informed afterwards that she was "coked up to the eyeballs", still, i thought it was great!

At last some one mentioned P.J Harvey!!! She's so underateded,i would also like to mention(but i can't remember her name) the girl from Jefferson Airplane, she had an amazing voice.

I can't believe that people are writting females of as rock singers,i understand that Males seem to dominate the market, but perhaps if we would all listen with a more open ear great female singers would get the breaks their male counterparts get.

Jefferson Airplane, you mean Grace Slick then. An excellent singer, read her biography too - interesting!

(Janis Joplin actually was rock!)
The two from Heart (forget their names)
Siouxsie Sioux
Gina X
Danielle Dax
Suzie Quatro

There's a few!
