Speaking for myself, I don't hate them at all, I think they're funny, intentionally and not, and Neil Hamburger's jokes (most of which could've been made about many other rock bands or celebrities) tap into that.

I'll take BSSM any day over Mike Patton's highly acclaimed body of work, which I don't care for. It's a fine rock album.

I listened to Uplift Mofo and Mothers Milk quite a bit after I got out of the service. I was also doin a lotta drugs, so there's that. BSSM seemed like they were hitting their stride and I'll crank up Suck My Kiss every time if it happens to be playing anywhere I'm within earshot but I was kinda done with them by then.

Amen, RHCP is fine. But Mike Patton is one of those people we're supposed to like, and I couldn't give less of a ****.

As they declined in prominence, more people began considering RHCP's music in terms of how it aligns with their taste and realized that they're pretty much unlistenable.
