You are crazy if you think any of those bands were bigger than guns n roses. I would say you know nothing about music if you really believe that. Its not even close. Guns n roses WERE the biggest band in the world since the beatles. Nirvana were not even close to being as big as guns n roses were in the early 90s.

Here is just a little proof for you. Guns n Roses headlined the biggest show in the world in 1991 (rock n rio II). Were you even old enough when the UYIs were released? Look at the hype the day those albums were released at midnight, the lines were insane, and no band since the beatles and or after that day in 1991 had seem soo many people waiting in line for a rock albums sold in that one night/day.

Gnr are the only act to hold the top two album spots in both the UK and US on the week of releasing both records with the UYIs.

Over 7 million people saw guns n roses on the UYI tour, that is more than all those bands you mentioned combined.

If nirvana was bigger than guns n roses in the early 90s, how come in 1992 guns n roses headlined the MTV music awards and not nirvana?

Also guns n roses sold more albums those all of those bands (including nirvana) in the 90s with less albums (gnr only really had 3 real albums)

Here are just a few show dates that guns n roses played in 1993 and you try and tell me with a straight face that any of those bands you mentioned were bigger.

May 27th, 1992 - 75, 000 people at the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart, Germany.
June 21st, 1992 - The band flies to Basel, Switzerland.
Another sold-out show at the 50,000 capacity St Jakob Stadium in Basel, Switzerland.
June 27th, 1992 - Show in Turin, Italy at the Della Alpi Stadium in front of 65,000 fans.
June 3rd, 1992 -Hannover, Germany to play at the Niedersachsen Stadium in front of a crowd of 60,000.
November 25th, 1992 - Caracas, Venezuela. In the absence of a suitable venue, the show is played outside one in a parking lot in front of 45,000. The biggest show ever staged in Venezuela.
Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv, Israel. Over 40 000 fans had gathered to see GN'R at the biggest concert held in Israel.
June 12th, 1993 - Show in front of 31 000 at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden
June 22nd, 1993 - Played in front of 50,000 at Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, Germany.
July 8th, 1993 - Nancy, France for a show in front of 20,000 Zenith arena.
July 16th, 1993 - Play in front of 70,000 at River Plate Stadium.

Yeah like any of those bands even came close to playing in front of that many people at any one show. I am sorry but guns n roses were the biggest band since the beatles in the early 90s.

Its not really pushing it at all. I am not saying they were as big as the beatles, but if any band came close to being as popular during their time period it was the guns n roses.

How can you still agree with him? Its not even close. Try and prove to me that nirvana was bigger than guns n roses in the early 90s? What is your basis for that? Give me some figures, because nirvana sold less albums, played in front of less people and nirvana had less fans. The thing that you do not undertand is guns n roses were the biggest band in the world from about 1988/89-1993.

nirvana took an underground, unknown genre of music and blasted into the mainstream, changing the sound of music for the next 5 years. nevermind alone has sold 15 million copies worldwide compared to appetite for destructions 14. use your illusion comes nowhere near.

First off you are wrong. Nevermind sold 15 million world wide while AFD sold 15 million in the USA ALONE not world wide.

Lets do just US sales since world wide sales nirvana does not even come close.

AFD sold 15 million in the USA.
Lies EP sold 5 million
UYIs sold 14 million (7 million each)

Bleach sold 1 million
Nevermind sold 10 million in the usa
IN utero sold 5 million in the usa

You really need to get your facts straight before you spew out this BS.
If you are going to lie then dont even both trying to show that nirvana was bigger.

Also nirvanas first album bleach didnt do squat, it was only when other bands like pearl jam, AIC and soundgarden came on the scene that grunge music took off. Even when grunge was at its peak in 92/93 guns n roses were still bigger than any grunge band or any band for that matter and I showed that in my previous post.

He was a much bigger ******* than Axl. Hell he and his wife smocked crack while she was preggo. Plus he spat on Elton Johns piano before he played Nov RAin with gnr back in 92

I think everyone would be a lot happier if Axl shot himself in the head, instead of Kurt.
