album sales truely reflects the success of a band, its a measure of how many people like the music. you really should learn to say something other than "you really should learn how to read", you just sound monotonous now. and yes UYI is average- IN MY OPINION. do you understand the concept of opinion?! it doesnt mean i know nothing, it means i have a differing view to yourself. but then that just shows how conceited and dismissive you are really. and shut up about touring, a lot of people cant afford the ticket price or get to the location, it is not a true measure of a bands success- unlike album sales.

Ok for LZ IV since you are so hard about that album.
It was released in 1971 and in 1990 it was only at 10m albums sold in the USA while AFD was released in 1987 and in 1998 it reached 15m albums sold in the usa.

So that just shows how that gnr was just as big if not bigger than LZ since in half the amout of years gnr sold more albums.

Sorry but you lose again.

Oh yeah and btw LZ IV is about 8 songs, you take the best 8 songs from UYI I and II and its better than LZ IV (IMO).

Who cares who sold more albums? That most likely shows which band is crappier...

Lets do some simple data gathering here...it's like being in school again! arent you all excited??

Everyone now adays likes "emo", right? Exactly how good is emo music? alittle good...less than alittle good? completely devoid of any talent? I'm going with option 3. Yet, these bands sell more albums than..let's say...Metal music, for instance..since this is a metal forum. It does not mean they are necessarily better than metal, it just means emo is mainstream and everyones best friend has to be like the next one and listen to their music because it's the cool thing to do.

So in conclusion, GNR was very very mainstream, You can't compare it to other bands with just how many albums were sold. IT'S MAINSTREAM. GET OVER IT. THEY WERE NOT THAT ****ING FANTASTIC. Godamnit, go pick up a Jethro Tull album for ****'s sake.

well i neva realised wen i posted this thread ther wud b so many replys n so much controversy i think axl wud b proud! draven is rite in evrything he says GnR epitomise evrythin a rock band shud b, they av only 1 original member av not released ne new material in like ova 10 years yet they still av millions of dedicated fans new n old how many bands can say that! not very many. in their heyday they sold over 50 million albums and perfomed sell-out gigs world-wide wether ur a fan or not u have 2 admit that gnr wer pretty specail! so many people r also anticipating the release of chinese democracy. gnr are wot rock shud b about from axls voice to slashs solos they r one of the greatest bands ever. just listen to the likes of estranged, breakdown, patience, civil war n u'll soon c! 'and to all thoses who oppose hmm well huh'
