Destruction's also a must for some kraut thrash. They don't sing in German, but they got a thick as hell accent..."I vant to dreeink lots of bee-ozzz und play loud geetaarzzz!" Coroner needs to get your attention, too. Even though they're Swiss, they're Teutonic at heart.

Of course, there's always Tom Angelripper's solo material.
I think Kreator`s "Extreme Agression" and especially "Coma of Souls" are two fantastic thrash albums.

Strangely nobody has mentioned the Scorpions, I know the stuff post "Love at First Sting" is mostly commercial and formula rubbish for the most part, but albums like "Lovedrive" "Blackout" and "Love at First Sting" I think are pretty essential to most hard rock/heavy metal collections. I think Klaus Meine`s voice is pretty special and certainly one of my favourite vocalists in the genre.

F__cking Aye! Lovedrive is tight. IMO their best, combining their early adventurous heavy style, with their later popular streamlined power chording. Best of all, it's got Michael Schenker on 4 or 5 tacks.

It's also got an amusing cover.

Animal Magnetism also has a very interesting cover as well. For some reason I couldn`t post a link here.

If anyone is interested is glam/hair metal type music like me, a really good choice is Dirty Penny. They're just starting to get big. Their second album "Young & Reckless" is out, and rocks like nothing else. I suggest you buy it, don't steal it. C'mon, support the band. Their vocalist sounds a lot like Vince Neil.

Hey im new to the site and was hoping for some recommendations for good bands that are extremely heavy. i love growling vocals but nothing like black metal or anything like eyehategod. those vocals annoy me.

some bands i currently listen to:
Lamb of God
Mastodon
Gojira
Machine head
Death
Pantera
Black Label Society
Slayer
Job For a Cowboy
Just to name a few

Try melodic death metal, plenty of growled vocals there with groups like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom to name just a few.
