I can't believe how many responses there are to this thread and still no mention of Angel Dust. It's practically the only funk metal album worth owning.

I'm probably really biased but whatever. Oh and btw, Pantera's first three albums that no one listens to are better than pretty much everything else they did.
The only Pantera album worth listening to is Vulgar Displays of Power, all the others are total rubbish imho. But Vulgar Displays is absolutely immense.

IMO, anything with Dimebag on it most certainly ain't rubbish, including pre- CFH "Power Metal"'. That should be remastered, ASAP.

I LOVE Angel Dust.... that album is absolutely amongst my favorites... I can't remember a single time i have pulled it out for a listen and not thoroughly enjoyed it.... one truly epic piece of, as you call it, accurately, I might add funk metal...

Hmmm... Filosofem over Hyvis Lyset Tar Oss and Det Som Engang Var? It's obviously an awesome album but I really don't think it matches the two aforementioned albums. And I'd take Purgatory Afterglow over Crimson. This isn't meant to be derogatory; just sayin it to start some discussion. There needs to be more metal elitists here. This forum is severely lacking.
