Oh hells yeah I'm 100% on board with slam death metal if there are consistently savage bands like this. The genre at its best is basically the American History X curb stomp gif played on repeat at varying speeds and holy **** does this band also stomp face. This is what brutal death metal should always have been.

On another note, I knew Queensryche's The Verdict was going to absolutely kill it, but I didn't think it would be this good. Just phenomenal songwriting.

I'm starting to check out the various metal releases this year that look interesting to me. Mastiff plays a fusion of hardcore, sludge, and death metal. It's brutish with mid-paced caveman riffs and ugly vocals. Honestly, I'm not crazy about it, but I think that some folks here (particularly Batty) would really enjoy it.

I'll never get over that crushing main riff. Legendary. Also RIP Randy Blythe being an actually visceral vocalist.
