Horrendous was actually really ****ing solid. Felt like a compromise between all the OSDM-type and prog death-type stuff being released this year.

This is decent, but I've always found death doom to be a source of anxiety for me. Too much like my mental state as-is, I guess, with all the boredom and dread and languishing. It's not enough of an escape.

I think it's definitely time to extensively bump some of the Death albums I haven't given the correct time of day. Human is getting the lion's share of plays right now, but Spiritual Healing and The Sound of Perseverance will be used to give me breaks.
