You might like those Death Grips fellows. I've been starting to come around to them, and though their biggest album, The Money Store, does drag a little bit, it's got some real choice tracks. Examples:

Maybe Dalek:

Or for more metal leaning... well all I got is Punk and that's Iceage:

Stop focusing on finding bands similar to Linkin Park, you will probably only find some nu-metal crap anyway. That's what happens if you use music discovery services. Get into the metal genre (which you said was the part of Linkin Park you liked), and find bands in that genre. Post-grunge, metalcore and nu-metal are genres similar to Linkin Park too, by the way.

If you can't find a band you like now, you will later. Your taste is going to evolve whether you like it or not. Just don't limit yourself. Listen to stuff you aren't sure about, and you'll come around.

To use metaphorical and Linkin Park in the same sentence is simply outstanding. Ridiculous of course but amazing nonetheless.

Never before have I been so stumped to recommend a song to someone.

Can you at least give us some examples of what you've listened to and some sort of idea of what you're looking for?

I don't know why any of you are trying. Linkin Park and it's contemporaries are the end of the line when it comes to musical progression. I've searched for 24 hours and have come up with nothing,

You should listen to Deftones if you don't already. They're probably the closest band to Linkin Park that doesn't suck.

Deftones - Rocket Skates (Video) - YouTube

Deftones - Change (In The House Of Flies) (Video) - YouTube

Deftones - Kimdracula - YouTube

Please let that be sarcasm, if linkin park is the end of the line for musical progression then we are all doomed.
