I am sorry I am still having trouble accepting it as a genre....
or what that even means... Emo? I equate it with acne riddled teenagers that haven't graduated on Joy Division, The Smiths, and every other amazeball UK artist...

Funny you mention those artists because they are directly the influence used by the originators of the genre.

Those artists are only listened to be hot topic wanna be mall goths so you are in good company.

You're missing out on a seriously amazing genre by having this shallow view of what emo music is, my dear.

Have you really never heard Brand New? I strongly suggest you at least give "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" a chance, and if you don't like it then that's totally fair!

Actually the biggest influence on the originators of emo was hardcore, since emo started life as a subgenre of hardcore and was short for "emotional hardcore".

Its kinda deep how my veiws are so shallow....Im not closing the genre down at all, I just dont know where to start....you know...feel free to send me recommendations Ill try anytging once....
