I kind of figured they'd lost some of their spark. I'll still check em out when I get the chance. Listening to Aja right now getting ready for the Easter festivities, it brings me back to hiking through the woods on a mountain in Germany. Thats around the time I first discovered this gem, thanks to a roomy with good taste in music. He'd be reading two books at the same time, while listening to Steely, Bowie, Zappa, or Neil Young.

Its the same way with me, when you get the connection of memories with the earlier albums, its hard not to be biased.
Aja is one of their best all-around albums, and one of my favorite singles as well.
It seemed like they had perfect timing with the release of Aja. The funk vibe and style just seemed to fit in perfect with what was being played on mainstream radio at that time. Songs like Jose for example, Black Cow, and so on, got a lot of airplay on the radio for over a decade or so. Along with two or three other songs that were also popular from the album.
