Default New Nightwish

Tarja vs Anette?

I like both singers on different levels.

Tarja had the most beautiful voice and an amazing range, I like the operatic style.

Anette is a big change. She is much more contemporary. But the more I listen to Amaranth the more I like her.

Of course the only songs I've heard from the new singer is Amaranth and Bye Bye Beautiful. I'm picking up Dark Passion Play tonight and thats when I can really get an idea of who I like better.

EDIT: After picking up the CD....I like Anette just as much as I like Tarja, but like I said, they are on different levels. I mean I retain that Tarja is AMAZING. But as for International popularity, I think Anette is going to do wonders for the band. I mean, this CD alone already has four singles(I believe) and I firmly believe that a few of those could get radio play over here(not sure about other areas but Detroit gets NOTHING like Nightwish). Her voice is more rock, less symphonic and with America at least, the majority of the people would want to listen to Anette more than Tarja. I am hopeful for more touring in America(YEAH!). With that said, a few more songs to check out would be "Whoever Brings The Night", "For The Heart I Once Had" and "Seven Days of The Wolves"

Even if you havent liked Nightwish in the past, the new singer is definately worth a listen.

I miss Tarja....she's on a completely different level than Anette....

I heard that she's coming out with a solo album soon

Anette is on the same playing field as Amy Lee.....Anette could replace Amy Lee and Evanescence fans wouldn't notice the difference

^Anette has a better live presence than Amy Lee for sure. And she's a lot prettier. (NOT a fan of Amy Lee lol).
