Anyway, if you don't get/like The Smiths after a few attempts to get into them, it's all cool. Move on and try a few other bands instead. Too much music out there for you to bother listening to stuff you don't really like over and over again in the hope that it finally 'clicks'.
Oh, I didn't listen to it over and over again, I just listened to the first three albums. I didn't really like the first at all, but the second and third were better. I can see the appeal now. Has to do with both that I think the albums are better, but also how I'm more used to the sound now, since I expected an entirely different sound at first. I think it's good music, just not necessarily my cup of tea. I think I'll give the fourth album a listen too, and I think it's a band worth keeping in my musicbee library.

There have been cases in the past where I didn't get something at all at first and I started liking that artist later. Wether that be because of listening to it multiple times in a short period of time or coming back to that band after a long time has passed. Black Flag's later stuff, or Fugazi's later stuff, and the Damned are good examples of that, so I like to give things a chance.

If you start to actually dig them, you should totally give the debut another try. It's a hella good album, even though it's not the best starting point if you want to get into the band.
