Right, so I guess in technicality there is some...metalcore involved.

I actually saw dillinger for the first time a few months ago. I was disappointed.
Then agian, it was the end of their tour, which rumor had it, there were some troubles with getting to atlanta in the first place...not much sleep.

I'm hoping that's what it was, because my expectations were that they were going to break the venue they played at.

No, mathcore is a very prominent sub-genre of metalcore, with bands like DEP, Converge, and Botch being some of the all-time most respected and well recognized in all of metalcore.
