Unfortunately they're pretty forgotten, which is a shame. Lookinglasself is probably my favorite metalcore album.

Their best song though is the crushing riff heaven of Die Laughing:

Never heard of any of those bands, but they all sound great. Definitely going to be listening to the rest of those albums later.

I also should have probably mentioned that I'm not all that familiar with metalcore, so picking favorites isn't too hard . Out of the handful of bands I know, Snapcase, Walls of Jericho, and Hatebreed are my favorites.

So I'm open to plenty of suggestions. I'm probably going to have a long list of stuff the listen to.

OMG I have so much to teach you, my son. Metalcore is possibly my current favorite metal and punk genre and it deserves so much more recognition by both sets. It's just a shame that the metal makes the punks tune out and the Killswitch drones make the metalheads tune out. Honestly with Arkangel and Maroon you basically have the next step that non-tech thrash could have gone and as a lifelong thrash head that's monumental to me. Here's some **** for your ass.

^Thanks for all the videos, I'll work my way through them. Zao's been on my list of bands to check out for awhile, but I'm not familiar with any of those others.

Even with my lack of metalcore knowledge, I totally agree with the thrash comparison. A lot of early metalcore especially is basically thrash. Some of the songs on Hatebreed's debut sound like they would fit on Sepultura's Arise or Chaos A.D.
