Nah he's not interested. If you pressure him he'll just refuse to listen to it to spite you.

There are oodles of modern metal albums that are better than Maiden anyway.

That's not true. I'm just lazy and haven't done it yet.

I'm not necessarily uninterested in it, but I never came around to doing so because I find modern metal to be much more appealing and quicker to grab my attention.
Whereas when I come across classic metal I find myself forcing myself to listen because I think "I'll probably like this if I keep going" before it loses my attention and 5 minutes in I run back to my iPod and listen for hours.

Perhaps I shouldn't question my habits and just follow my ears. shrugs*
No, if your 22 I think this is perfectly normal and is probably a good sign, considering that for many, metal has become the Dad's music.

I'm not disappointed.
Ahhh, these are the kind of tangents I love about this board.

Metal in general? I don't think so. Unless you mean classic metal which I'm sure you're referring to.
I hope I don't get the same attitude as he does. He doesn't like music because he didn't grow up with it. So many doors closed man..

I really doubt it since I'm all about the modern edginess. I got many new songs I like that are released like yesterday.

I mean the classic stuff, I think its good for the genre to have a complete generation separation. Kids can't rebel against music their parents like.

That being said classic metal $hits all over new metal jk, I haven't heard any new metal since the metalcore craze.
