Symphonic prog is a pretty meaningless genre.

If we're talking general prog rock, then Red all the way; it's one of a handful of albums I'd call perfect. And it's actually reasonably well recognised on RYM.

I'd replace Kansas and Transatlantic with some Genesis and an Italian classic.

Decisions, decisions...

Alright, here we go. I went ahead and added Riot Grrrl just for the hell of it. In the Court of the Crimson King should definitely stay on, though Red could fit into jazz fusion somewhere. Symphonic Prog will now be a thing, because I'm a genre nazi as well. See JGuy's post on Page 25 for more info on other changes. The only thing he does not mention is that I put Mirage in Symphonic Prog, and stuck Tubular Bells on Prog Rock. I think that's that now.

@New Wave & Gothic Rock
The B-52's replaced Disintegration, and Disintegration is off of any lists for now. Personally, I feel Pornography is just that much more representative of the Gothic sound than Disintegration.

@Folk Rock
Honestly, Joni Mitchell has had such a profound influence on the genre as a whole that I'm willing to let it through. Plus, it may be quiet and guitar-focused, but it uses many rock song structures rather than folk.

@Post-Grunge
All the stuff JGuy said, I did. Turns out Melvins was on stoner Rock as well, so it works out.

@Prog Rock
Switched the King Crimson albums around. Red is on prog, Court is on symphonic.

@Seltzer
Gonna wait to see the general consensus, though I see what you're saying.
