Well that post was made in 2016 and TLP seems to have left us, so if those are still to be played, then **** yeah. But I have a feeling they may have already been. I'm definitely in for those ones though, if they're still to be played.

Well as far as I can tell the most recently completed round was held in 2018, and TLP was still moderating the game and making edits to the future/finished battles lists up until that point. So yeah those genres should still be up for grabs

edit: we should probably have a new thread to keep track of the remaining/completed battles tho. It'll be impractical to keep TLP's old thread unless a mod can edit it for us I guess

Good luck if you try to bring this idea back to life, GD, but I'm afraid Trollheart's appraisal about clubs and threads is about right these days; this place is so much quieter than it used to be.

Even a low-commitment, all-genres-accepted thread like the one below, about mini-reviewing one song, has not survived: I bumped it, but it promptly expired again:

Since the forum is kinda slower these days it seems like people aren't exactly lining up to join. tho I could always try spamming the shoutbox and see if that will spur anyone on

and TH, you could always join in whenever we're doing a genre that does interest you, no need to feel any commitment to participate in any battles that doesn't mean anything to you. I mean it's not like we ever made people sign up up for these as if it were an album club or something similar
Sure, I’ll tally. Which survivor do y’all wanna start again with?

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I'd suggest we start with something like Symphonic Prog. We'd get TH on board for that one I bet, and besides, we need all the participation we can get with how low the activity on the forum is atm

Definitely be there. I'd also post in the prog sub-forum, maybe the announcements - get the word out everywhere you can.

So? Everyone involved so far in favour of this? I'm about ready to get started, though it's probably a good idea to make the first deadline a little generous in case someone else wants to join, but haven't heard all the albums in the round (or they have but want to re-listen to be sure of their votes)

^Great
Btw for anyone who's unsure, these are the albums for the upcoming round:
Quote:
Symphonic Prog

1. Yes - Close to the Edge
2. Camel - Mirage
3. Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed
4. Gentle Giant - Octopus
5. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
6. Änglagård - Hybris
7. Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte
8. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
9. Electric Light Orchestra - Eldorado
10. Genesis - Foxtrot
Now all that's left is for Tristan to announce the first deadline
