My 80's band with a 90's break thru album would be Soundgarden - Superunknown
But I know this is supposed to be about a 90's band..so..I guess STP would be it for me.

NMH for their two albums, Dream Theater for their 90's stuff, Radiohead I guess for their first three, Soundgarden for Badmotorfinger and Superunknown. Pearl Jam for Ten and Vs., too.
