My mom and dad say punk and metal don't have rhythm a all. When I say that's objectively wrong they pull the "it's all relative, it's not rhythmic to me" card. They also think anything with distortion guitars can't sound happy, even if its the happiest major chord song. Ofc there's the obligatory all metal bands are satanic and metalheads are ****ed up people bs.
They also keep mentioning how I'm black and think I'm supposed to be into more "black" music.

I mean, I love my parents but damn.
