True, ER has certainly brought some prime quality bants, hope she sticks around. She has legend potential.

Maybe.

I love em both
Same pretty much exactly. Van Halen I and Machine Head were such formative records for me that I've only come to love more and more as the years go by and if you said I had to pick one to never listen to again I'd just ask for a gun and an hour alone to say goodbye to both records.

Ritchie by miles.

Plus he was often borderline Prog Metal.

Who doesn't love Rainbow?

Blackmore has a better sense of melody. Sometimes I find Eddie's sense of melody to be kinda 'artificial', while Blackmore's seems more 'natural' to me.
Stargazer's and Child In Time's solos are much more sophisticated than any Eddie's solo.

Van Halen would be my choice.

Blackmore is an amazing guitarist too, but if i absolutely had to pick one, then it would be Van Halen.

Personally, I like Eddie Van Halen, I haven't heard of Ritchie Blackmore though.

He was the guitarist for Deep Purple before forming his own band, Rainbow.

Blackmore.

He's much more melodic, and actually tries to play something that would fit a song, while EVH is all flash and no soul

If you haven't heard of Blackmore then how can you actually say who do you prefer?
