I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Or apparently not too controversial, because Simon and Garfunkel were just voted off unanimously. Now I believe it could go either way, though.

Round 6
1. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
2. Joni Mitchell - Blue
5. Neil Young - After the Gold Rush
10. The Beatles - Rubber Soul

Vote 2 off. Deadline: September 19.

Joni Mitchell
The Beatles
____________________________________

Since we're starting to approach the end of this current battle, I thought I would check what genre people were up for doing next. I was thinking of continuing with Gothic Rock. However, the current list seems a little strange to me:
Spoiler for Gothic Rock (current list):
1. The Sisters of Mercy - First and Last and Always
2. Bauhaus - Mask
3. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju
4. The Cure - Pornography
5. Killing Joke - Night Time
6. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
7. Gene Loves Jezebel - Promise
8. Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Talk About the Weather
9. The Danse Society - Seduction
10. Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium

So I propose making the following changes (shown in italics):
Spoiler for Gothic Rock (new list?):
1. The Sisters of Mercy - First and Last and Always
2. Bauhaus - Mask
3. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju
4. The Cure - Disintegration
5. Killing Joke - Night Time
6. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
7. Cocteau Twins - Head Over Heels
8. Swans - White Light from the Mouth of Infinity
9. Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
10. Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium

Let me know what you think and if you're interested in taking part in that battle. If there's not much interest I may put the choice of what genre to do next down to a vote with a few different options, but feel free to suggest something else if there's some genre one or more of you really want to do, and we'll see.

Joni Mitchell - Blue
Neil Young - After the Gold Rush

The gothic rock battle is ok with me. Only a couple of albums on either list that I'm not familiar with and will have to check out.

Good to hear!
One more thing before it's time to announce the next battle officially: Does anyone have a preference between the Bauhaus albums Mask and In the Flat Field in terms of what to include? I'm fine with either, but I was thinking it might be better to swap in ITFF instead of Mask since the former is more widely considered to be the truly classic Bauhaus album.

I'd probably lean to In the Flat Field but either should work.

And with that, Joni Mitchell is out.

Round 7
1. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
5. Neil Young - After the Gold Rush
10. The Beatles - Rubber Soul

Vote 1 off. Deadline: September 22

Also, noted on the gothic rock battle. What I'm thinking of doing now is using the new list, but swapping out Mask for In the Flat Field. If so, this is what the definitive version of the list will look like:
Spoiler for Gothic Rock - final edit(?):
1. The Sisters of Mercy - First and Last and Always
2. Bauhaus - In the Flat Field
3. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju
4. The Cure - Disintegration
5. Killing Joke - Night Time
6. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
7. Cocteau Twins - Head Over Heels
8. Swans - White Light from the Mouth of Infinity
9. Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
10. Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium
Just checking one last time to make sure this is alright with everybody. Final chance to voice your cries of protest!
