My parents listen to Meatloaf.
He's ok.
Not a massive fan though.

Can`t stand him

But watching him shouting encouragement & telling him how to motivate his players to Hartlepool United manager Mike Newell on Soccer AM is one of the funniest things I have ever seen

Bat Out of Hell is a masterpiece. Though I think its mostly due to Jim Steinman's genius. Meat Loaf has a great voice and amazing stage presence. "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)" is in my top ten coolest opening minute of a song ever.

Saw a VH1 special about the making of Bat Out Of Hell. Tod Rundgren produced this album.
The pairing of Steinman's songs with the delivery of Meat Loaf's incredible (almost operatic)
vocals was a perfect combo. Never had this album, but after watching what went into making this "epic" record, I think I will pick it up. Sold 30 some million copys (btw). Reminds me of Springsteen's "Born To Run" - has that Spector-like Wall Of Sound production.

Meatloaf was the very best part of "Fight Club", in my opinion. Never really got into his music, but his role as Robert Paulson was epic.

Meatloaf since the beginning has been lambasted by critics and so called Rock fans alike. His albums made with Jim Steinman remain true classics. Steinmans' crafting of a song paired with Meatloafs' strong delivery and passion produce some of the most memorable music of their era. I am a Meatloaf fan and not afraid to admit it.
