Also Joe bonamassa and malsmteen are also guitar gods of the modern era. Yeah I'm with you on preffering older music too. Just a personal preference I understand, but a well chosen one IMO. I also enjoy listening to red house by jimi. I have to say that i prefer SRV cover of little wing over jimis original. I have Jimi plays berkley, it kicks ass, not as much as how the west was won or song remains the same, but still its one of my fav. music dvds that I own. I wish I was around back in the day to go to woodstock. How amazing to see Hendrix, CSN, and the Who all play on the same stage.

He's good, for virtuoso's I love Buckethead, at least he takes the risks, and everything isn't breakneck.

Cosstown traffic is probably his best rock song.

Lmao my Mate tried to tell me a couple of days ago that the late Dimebag Darrell was a better guitarist than Hendrix so i stood there and laughed for about 10 minutes. My favorite song has to be Along the watchtower

Its really really tough to say. I mean, there isn't another pete townshend around today and I think he blows. Its hard to have "another" of anyone because usually they are so similar and are mocked to death and berated for such plagerism.

I think Jack White will be huge, and I love that people can't get past his voice, because it fends off the bandwagon riders who would says hes great to be cool and ruin the band.
Excuse me, did you just say that Jack White is better than Pete Townshend?

Listen to Quadrophena, or Live At Leeds...You cant tell me that Townshend didnt have some skill.

He was a major influence on Hendrix to boot, Hendrix called him a mad genious... People give Hendrix credit for a lot of things, primarly his use of lots of distortion and feedback and techniques like pick scrapes and stacked amplification, things that Townshend was doing years prior...Rock music would be noticebly different without Pete Townshend.

people are going to shun me for this . . . but i would rather listen/watch pete play than hendrix, just becuase hendrix is too overrated, and I have heard those same guitar parts over and over and over, and I think townshend is way funner to watch play. I'm in no way saying he is a better guitarist, but he isnt as bad as he's made out to be either. I have a vid. of the who playing my generation live on the sullivan show, it kicks some major ass. Hendrix doesn't have enough songs to keep me interested for a long time.
