Bunch of false equivalency up in here.

It got banned because of overuse and unnecessary drama. Judging from this thread, the latter is still a factor.

Use it playfully occasionally for a bit of shock but just pick another go to alrighty Chuck.

Please search my history to show me how many times I use "faggot". I'll be honestly surprised if it's anywhere near constant.

More often than occasional.

So uh, sorry to jump several pages back instead of continuing bickering about whatever this is, but I think Elphenor said something interesting/concerning a number of pages back.

Basically, the idea that people like those on this forum, that are pretty into music, to say the least, should be expected to only like obscure bands or whatever isn't top 40/mainstream/for dumb people or... something. If anything, I'd say that if you really, really have a deep interest in music, you will eventually learn to value expression, melody, harmony, etc. enough that you can recognize a great tune without worrying about whether it's sufficiently snob-appropriate music to enjoy. Worrying about the coolness factor is for teenage music snobs who haven't yet learned to stop worrying and just love uncool music for whatever it does have to offer.

I feel highly suspicious of music nerds who only like obscure rock music or something else very specfic.
