I like both Snow Patrol and Coldplay, and in fact own both of their entire back catalogues.... but yeah, sometimes in the opening parts of songs, you can hear the similarities.... in that way bands...

I actually quite like his raspy tone myself... and the fact that he isn't always pitch perfect doesn't bother me one bit... in fact I very much prefer it that way... and you can hear genuine passion...

Only By The Night is a fairly decent effort IMO... not as good as Because of the Times though, which rocks its socks off... Only By The Night feels a little more hastily put together and an all round...
